Intended Use / Indications
Intended Use
The Vitrectomy Kit is intended to provide a selection of disposable drapes, protective covers and ophthalmic surgical consumables for use during ophthalmic surgical procedures.
The included components are designed to support surgical preparation, ophthalmic dressing, wound care, fluid management and other procedural requirements as applicable to the individual procedure.
Indications
The kit may be used as part of the preparation and performance of ophthalmic surgical procedures where the included components are required.
Directions for Use
1. Check the product name, package integrity and contents before use.
2. Open the kit according to standard clinical procedures.
3. Arrange the drapes and protective covers according to the surgical procedure.
4. Use the included eye care products, gauze, cotton buds and wound closure strip according to their intended functions.
5. Use needles, syringes and the 3-way stopcock according to the applicable clinical procedure and facility protocol.
6. Do not reuse disposable components.
7. Dispose of used components in accordance with applicable medical waste disposal requirements.

Packaging & Sterility
Packaging:
Procedure-specific components are organized into the kit, with needles, syringes and the 3-way stopcock contained in a separate polybag as specified on the sample label.
Sterility:
The supplied Vitrectomy Kit sample is labeled "Sample Pack – Non Sterile." Therefore, the website copy should currently state Non-Sterile for this sample configuration.
The label separately identifies the 3M Steri-Strip wound closure strip as sterile, so this wording should not be generalized to the entire kit.
Single Use:
The sample label states that the product is for single use and should not be reused.
